Level 8 hair
Level 8 blonde hair typically has a lot of gold or orange undertones.
See the picture above.
Whereas most toners on the market are in fact level 10 toners and are designed to neutralize pale yellow only.
In other words, they have been designed for hair that has already been lightened blonde with bleach.
As a result, they are extremely sheer.
There simply don't have enough pigments, and the right pigments to neutralize the warmth that you typically get on hair level 8 blonde hair.
Which is why when you apply them onto level 8 hair, nothing happens.

Before we go any further, you need to be very clear.
What are you looking to do with your level 8 blonde hair?
Are you looking to keep the hair at this level and tone it to get rid of the warmth?
Or are you looking to lift up the hair to level 10 and then tone it?
Because the products you are going to use will be different in these 2 cases.
Keeping hair at level 8 blonde

Toners which work well on level 8 hair and will neutralize and tone the warmth at that level.

Blue Ash Blonde Toner 09B
Hair toned with Blue Ash Blonde 09B
Our first Blondify toner is a blue ash based toner.
Use this toner when you have a lot of orange in your hair.
The toner is a level 9 toner.
Meaning that it will lift your level 8 hair by about 1 level.
At the same time depositing pigments which will neutralize orange.
It will get you a toned medium level ash blonde color, which will leave the hair around level 8-9.
Violet Blonde Toner 09V
Hair toned with 09V mixed with Purple Grey
The Violet Blonde Toner is also a level 9 toner.
As the name implies, it contains violet pigments rather than blue.
Use this toner when you have a lot of yellow in your hair that you want to neutralize - as opposed to orange.
This toner will also produce a medium blonde look: level 8/9 with the yellow and warmth reduced.
Purple Grey Toner
For those seeking a reflect to their level 8 blonde hair, the Purple Grey Toner is a real game-changer.
Combining shades of purple with grey, this toner also neutralizes both yellow and orange.
It’s a true level 8 toner.
Use this toner if you are happy to stay at level 8 blonde but you want to give a stunning purple reflect to it at the same time.
Clear Toner
This toner should be used to add gloss and shine to medium blonde hair.
Clear can be a very useful mixing product for both the Blue Ash Blonde toner as well as the Violet Blonde toner.
It will help lift the hair by approximately 1 level.
How to use Blondify toners
All Blondify toners are ammonia-free formula and PPD free.
And because they are liquid toners, they are incredibly easy to use.
Simply mix with an equal amount of 10 or 20 Vol developer and apply to the hair either with a coloring brush or with fingers using gloves.
Make sure you rub in well to allow all the hair to get into contact with the toner mix.
Leave them to process for 10 minutes and then rinse with water.
Lifting hair up to level 10 and then toning it.

Bleached pale yellow level 10 hair
Let's now suppose that you want to lift up your level 8 hair to a true level 10 blonde.
And then tone it.
In that case we would suggest you use Brilliant Blondexx bleach with Bond Protect.
Mix with 20 Vol and apply to your hair.
You should not have any difficulty taking the color build-up out (we are guessing that it has been colored in the past) and lifting it up very very pale yellow.
The color of the inside of a banana skin.
Like in the picture above.
Now you are ready top tone.
But this time we will use level 10 toners. Which will work perfectly.

Pearl Blonde 10V

Hair toned with Pearl Blonde Toner 10V
This is a cream bases permanent toner. It's very heavily pigmented with pearl and purple pigments.
It will give you a pearl-blonde look with zero yellow.
Use with 20 Vol developer.
Extra Light Cold Ash Blonde 10.1b

Hair toned with Extra Light Cold Ash Blonde 10.1b
Extra light cold ash blonde, as the name implies is a level 10 toner with blue based ash pigments.
The blue is excellent at killing yellow/orange.
This toner will give you a very pure white blonde look.
Natural Violet Blonde 10B
Hair toned with Natural Violet Blonde 10B
Our final tone is a liquid demi. But it's a level 10 toner and it's packed with purple pigments.
Just mix with 20 Vol developer and you will be able to neutralize any remaining yellow in your hair in just 10 minutes.
How do I look after and maintain my toned blonde hair?
In order to maintain bleached or toned blonde hair, we would suggest you use Brilliant Blondexx haircare.
