What are hair extensions?
Hair extensions are artificial or real hair strands that are added to a person's natural hair to increase length, volume, and thickness.
People may be looking for hair extensions for a variety of reasons, including to enhance their appearance, to add length to their hair that they can't grow naturally, or to try out new hairstyles without committing to a permanent haircut.
Artificial versus natural extensions
Some extensions are made from artificial hair. Others are made from natural human hair.
Artificial hair extensions are fine for stage purposes or for one-off use.
But if you are going to wear extensions day in and day out, you will find that extensions made from natural hair are the best.
Remy extensions
The highest grade of natural hair extensions are known as "Remy".
The term "Remy" comes from the French word "remis," which means "put back in order" or "arranged." In the context of hair extensions.
Remy hair refers to hair that has been collected and arranged in a specific way to maintain the natural alignment of the hair cuticles.
Remy hair is kept in its natural alignment, with the cuticles facing the same direction.
This process helps to ensure that the hair remains tangle-free and does not mat.
The hair is also carefully processed to remove any damaged or weak strands, leaving only the strongest and healthiest strands.
So the hair remains soft, shiny, and tangle-free.
Clip-in extensions versus tape-in extensions.
Clip-ins can be put into the hair very easily.
They need to be removed, however, when sleeping and when washing your hair.
Tape-in extensions, on the other hand are semi-permanent hair.
Once they are fixed onto the hair, they are generally left for around 6 - 8 weeks.
At this point the hair has grown out and the extensions typically need to be repositioned.
Tape-in extensions are lightweight, comfortable to wear, and provide a natural look that seamlessly blends with your own hair.
Ugly Duckling tape-in extensions
Ugly Duckling extensions are tape-in.
They are made from Remy hair, which is the finest natural human hair available, cuticle aligned.
This means that the hair looks natural, will remain tangle-free and will not mat.
They can be applied in under 30 minutes.
You will need to reapply them every 6-9 weeks as the hair grows out in order to re-position them.
Can you color Ugly Duckling extensions?
Ugly Duckling extensions have been pre-bleached and pre-toned to specific blonde colors so that they match Ugly Duckling's popular colors.
However, they can be re-colored or toned prior to being applied.

Can Hair Extensions be heat-styled?
