How To Succeed with Your Intense Pearl Blonde Toner Application:
- If hair is not already blonde, lift using Brilliant Blondexx Lightener & Developer.
- Try to eliminate as much of the brassiness as possible and make sure hair is at level 8/9 (see chart below)
- Rinse when this has been achieved.
- Towel dry to get rid of excess moisture.
- Now apply Intense Pearl Blonde Toner 100V.
- Use with 10 Vol if your hair is truly well pre-lightened to a level 9/10.
- Use with 20 Vol developer if your hair is still very yellow or if you are aiming for level a 10 blonde result.
- Make sure your product and developer mix is runny (1 part toner to 2 parts developer).
- This will help you work fast and get an even color result.
- Try and saturate the hair with as much product as possible. This will also help the toning process.
- Rinse as soon as you get the desired color result (the product is very fast acting)
- Normally, 10 minutes of processing time is sufficient to neutralize all yellow.
- To finish and maintain, use sulfate-free acidic professional hair care products
- Use Brilliant Blonde Purple Shampoo and Mask to keep yellow away
- Use Brilliant Blondexx Shampoo and Mask with Bond Protect to keep hair strong, healthy and breakage free.

This toner lifts and tones beautifully
As a wig hobbyist, I'm always trying out new formulas/toners for achieving the colors I want. This one is the best for cool, high-level toners, no questions asked. There is SO much product in the tube so it's well worth the price. This will turn a standard yellow-blonde 16x3 lacefront WHITE. Be advised though, I mixed it with a few different 20 developer formulas and different developers will vary in resulting tone. The Clairol Pure White 20 developer I think worked the best. But it moves FAST, so watch it carefully because it can overtone. White toning is typically not beginner friendly, so be sure to do your research before diving in. Anyway, love the product and I’ll never buy another brand of toner again!
Got the best toning result of my life ever. Did what they told me to do, bleached with their Bond Protect Bleach until the hair was white, then POW. This result!!!
I was skeptical but ended up very satisfied with my results. It covered up the yellow from my bleaching and didn’t burn my hair at all. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. I plan on using more products from ugly duckling.
I was really skeptical of using this at first, I bought the Pearl Blonde Toner 100.21 and Silver Blonde Toner 10.21, Brilliant Blondexx Lightener with Bond Protect, 20 developer and 30 developer. I'm a medium blonde root, used 30 developer and the Blondexx Lightener for 30 min - I rinsed a little bit too soon, was still pretty brassy. I messed up and used half Pearl Blonde half Silver blonde to 1 part 20 oz Developer. Still a little brassy. I contacted support for advice, they told me to do 20 developer with the Lightener to get it lighter blonde, then do the toner. This is when I realized I messed up and that I didn't use 2 part developer for the toner to 1 part creme. I did this and re-did the process of 2 part developer to a mix of Pearl and Silver toner and it came out absolutely amazing! Icy blonde and beautiful!

I do my own hair at home, and was tired of the same old toners (Wella T18, anyone?) I was cruising the internet one night for something a bit different, and boy this is it! The toner is a perfect, pearly blonde and I will repurchase. There is enough in the tube to do two toner sessions!
I’m 70. New decade. Looking for a look, I saw Ugly Duckling & thought what a weird name. Still looking & couldn’t forget Ugly Duckling ! I wanted to try toner! 10, 20, 30 developer; I didn’t know developer was peroxide! I read many Q & A’s on Quora about bleaching & it is really hard to be a blonde! I couldn’t stop toning! It was fun

I've been trying to get my hair silver with no luck for years, so imagine my joy when I used 1pt Purple Gray and 3pts Intense Pearl Blonde with 10v to see if I could get lilac and it's silver with a lilac tint. I'm obsessed. Great hair color
This is my favorite toner - I use it with a 40 level developer, and it's almost white without the awful brassiness. I'm not a professional but have been dyeing my own hair for a long time - on my second tube now! :)

I got 20 developer, and my hair is pretty light...yellowish, unfortunately, but I figured, based on what I read and befores and afters I saw, this would be perfect to lighten everything up for me. It did nothing. Nothing at all. The developer just fried my hair. I just want to go to the most pale blonde...like what is pictured above. I was so excited, and that is a bummer. However, the store, itself, was great. Easy to navigate website, etc. I just can't figure out why nothing at all....not lemon juice, not this toner, nothing, can lighten my hair. And the hairdresser who lightened it originally actually left it yellowish, brownish, greenish. Ugh. Do I need to get some boxy dye? I just don't even know!
